Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Stanley Pearson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, James Neil!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Ben Hemmingworth and Donatello Bradman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight stays on the outside here - Pearson looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Pearson throws a lazy body kick

so Neil counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Neil loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Neil throwing strikes but missing.
Pearson has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Neil has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Neil postures up in Pearson's guard and throws a big left but Pearson blocks it.
Neil trying to control the position from guard on top but Pearson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Neil lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Neil postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Neil pushes down on Pearson's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Neil missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Neil is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Neil seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Pearson keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Neil scores with a big shot! Pearson's head bounced off the canvas with a huge thud! More strikes land and the referee has jumped in to save Pearson! He was hurt real bad - good stoppage!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). James Neil!
