Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Drew Infamous (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Conor Newell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Infamous comes to the cage accompanied by Hustlers Ambition. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Drew Infamous!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Conor Newell!
The judges for this bout are Darius Henderson, Ben Hemmingworth and Summer Carpenter.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Infamous.
Infamous throws a looping overhand right but Newell ducks down to avoid it.
Infamous waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Newell.

Newell has closed the distance and engaged Infamous in a clinch.
Newell misses with a body punch.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Newell has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Infamous has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Newell avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Newell tries to close the distance and clinch up but Infamous swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Infamous lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Infamous bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Infamous is trying to ground and pound but Newell uses the momentary lack of control by Infamous to regain half guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Infamous postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Infamous postures up from his opponent's guard, before exploding into some vicious ground and pound! Newell covers up, he's hurt! Infamous keeps throwing the strikes, glancing at the referee... Will he stop it?? One more big shot from Infamous and the ref steps in to end the fight! Infamous can't hide his delight as he celebrates with his corner.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:54 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Drew Infamous!
After the fight, Drew Infamous was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
Conor Newell spoke after the fight, saying 'Fuck . I underestimated the guy . He was alot better than I thought . I'll go back the gym and I'll come back stronger'.
