The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Savage throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Christian is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Savage's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Savage's back!

Christian is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Savage knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Savage for a finish.

Savage drops back, looking for a kneebar! Christian looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Christian looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Christian!

Savage pushes Christian away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Christian gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Christian misses with a series of wild punches.
Savage tries to close the distance and clinch but Christian swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Savage lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Christian goes for a double leg but Savage avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Savage continues to drive forward.

Christian moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Christian is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Savage has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Savage!

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Christian holds on and takes a little breather.

Savage postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Christian is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Savage, into his guard.

Christian has gone for a leg lock! Savage slips out almost immediately though and dives into Christian's guard.

Savage is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Christian has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Savage is looking to defend but Christian has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Savage! Christian pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Savage taps out and this one is all over!
