Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Morgan Richardson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Thomas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). John Thomas told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thomas stuffs the takedown attempt from Richardson. Richardson gets slowly back to his feet.
Thomas displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Richardson.
Thomas shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Richardson sprawls well. Richardson wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Thomas gets slowly back to his feet.
Richardson dives in and grabs Thomas's left leg, looking for a takedown. Thomas pushes down on Richardson's head and hops out.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Morgan Richardson. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Richardson avoids the body shot from Thomas.

Thomas feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Richardson might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Richardson wants to stand but Thomas is controlling the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Thomas loads up on a big left hand. Richardson felt that one! He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Thomas looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Richardson can't hide his disappointment, as Thomas celebrates the victory.
