The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Turpin ducks right into an uppercut from De Gaul.
De Gaul jabbing away but nothing is landing.
De Gaul is looking to land body kicks.
Turpin misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
De Gaul follows through with a counter body kick but it doesn't land.
Turpin scores with a jab to the jaw.
Turpin ducks under a wild hook from De Gaul.
Turpin lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
A swing and a miss from Turpin.
Turpin moves out of range of the body kick.
Turpin was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Turpin dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on De Gaul. That did some damage!
A cross from Turpin lands.

It looks like Obelix De Gaul has been cut.
De Gaul goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
De Gaul throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Turpin misses the shot to the body.
Turpin tries to land a front kick but De Gaul steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
De Gaul misses with a body kick.

De Gaul tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
It looked like Turpin was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from De Gaul.
Turpin uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
De Gaul tries to clinch there but Turpin circles away.
Turpin lands a nice looking body kick.
Turpin looks to land a right hand but De Gaul moved out of range.
Randolph Turpin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
De Gaul throws a wild body kick that Turpin sees coming a mile off.
Turpin scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
De Gaul pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Turpin turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
De Gaul takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Turpin moves out of range of the body kick from De Gaul.
De Gaul moves out of range of the leg kick from Turpin.
Turpin moves forwards but De Gaul connects with a nice, crisp jab.
De Gaul thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Turpin if he has to take too many more of those.

This has been an exciting period of action!
De Gaul has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Turpin.
Turpin throws a leg kick but De Gaul moved away.
Turpin scores with a nice head shot.
De Gaul throws a lazy uppercut
and Turpin counters with a nice uppercut.
Turpin throws a predictable looking body shot
and De Gaul counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
De Gaul walks forward, straight into a front kick from Turpin.
De Gaul with a jab.
De Gaul throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Turpin throwing a counter right hand but De Gaul manages to avoid it.
De Gaul with a body punch. A glancing blow.
It looks like Turpin has been trying to sharpen up his punching technique, as it looks crisper than last time we saw him.
De Gaul looks to throw the jab but Turpin is out of range.
De Gaul lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Nice shot lands for De Gaul.
De Gaul takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Turpin throws a head kick but De Gaul moves out of range.
A looping hook to the body misses from Turpin. De Gaul does a little dance to reset his feet.
De Gaul lands with a kick to the ribs.
Turpin is breathing heavily.
De Gaul dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
De Gaul lands a nice looking kick to the body. Turpin takes a step back to recover.
De Gaul connects with a body shot that sends Turpin's belly button to the back.
Turpin takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
De Gaul chopping away at his opponent's legs.
De Gaul buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
De Gaul takes a jab right on the kisser.
De Gaul uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
A big right from Turpin misses.
De Gaul replies with a solid counter kick to the body but Turpin blocks it well.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The fighters circle momentarily. De Gaul darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Turpin keeps De Gaul at a distance using the push kick.
De Gaul throws the kick towards the body but Turpin avoids it.
Donk. Turpin catches De Gaul right on the button with a cross.
De Gaul works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
De Gaul throws a powerful right kick. Turpin tried to block low but the kick was high! Turpin was taken right off of his feet! De Gaul jumps in to finish the job and the ref tackles him! The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Obelix De Gaul!
During a confident post fight interview, Obelix De Gaul thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
In defeat, Randolph Turpin stepped up to the mic, saying 'I've had a great career, can't complain, good luck to the kid.'.
