Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Sean Carroll (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Williams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Jack Williams enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Sean Carroll!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jack Williams!
The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Daniel Franklin and Dirk Anderson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Williams throws a series of punches but Carroll moves out of range.

Carroll darts in and clinches Williams up against the cage.
A frustrated look appears on Carroll's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Williams pulls guard.
Carroll working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Carroll postures up in Williams's guard and throws a big left but Williams blocks it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Williams seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Carroll is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Williams is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Williams is adopting a defensive guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Carroll accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Let's hope that Williams has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Williams is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Williams can do anything to dispel that myth.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Williams enables Carroll to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Williams manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Carroll is breathing heavily.

Carroll throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Williams works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Williams has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Carroll off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Williams shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Carroll as he avoids it easily.

Sean Carroll has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jack Williams.
Carroll throws a right and a left that Williams avoids nicely.
Williams shoots for a double leg takedown but Carroll sprawls well. He's pushed Williams's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Carroll stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Carroll wants it to stay on the feet.
Williams tries to clinch up but Carroll circles away and keeps his distance.

Carroll throws a big counter combination but Williams scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Williams fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Carroll avoids it really well and circles away.

Carroll finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Carroll throws a nice head kick!
Williams changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Carroll tries to avoid it but Williams manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Carroll to the ground. Carroll escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Carroll slaps away a takedown attempt from Williams, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Williams shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Williams scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Williams looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Carroll with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
We've been informed that Williams has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Williams seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Williams throwing shots but Carroll is blocking nicely.

Carroll looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Williams slips a nice elbow through Carroll's hands, connecting with Carroll's forehead.
Williams looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Carroll with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.


Carroll is rocked!
Carroll is looking for a sweep. Williams is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Oh Carroll is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Williams scores with a big shot! Carroll's head bounced off the canvas with a huge thud! More strikes land and the referee has jumped in to save Carroll! He was hurt real bad - good stoppage!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:49 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jack Williams!
