Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Eddie Freeman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chad Sorenson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chad Sorenson will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Eddie Freeman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Chad Sorenson!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Joseph Jones and Eddie Farnsworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sorenson moves into range and clinches up with Freeman.
Sorenson tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
A short body shot lands from Sorenson as the two fighters clinch.

Freeman manages to break the clinch.

Sorenson rushes Freeman and presses him up against the cage.

Sorenson manages to pull guard.
Freeman really is built like a bowling ball. I wonder if he'd roll if you pushed him down a hill...
Sorenson is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Freeman is controlling him.
Sorenson is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Sorenson wants to sweep but no luck.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sorenson is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Freeman cracks Sorenson with a solid left hand.

Sorenson darts in and clinches Freeman up against the cage.

Freeman postures up in Sorenson's guard and throws a big left but Sorenson blocks it.

Freeman could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Freeman stands up over Sorenson, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Freeman is working Sorenson over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Sorenson is trying to keep Freeman in close.
Freeman working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Sorenson is adopting a defensive guard.
Freeman makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Freeman stands up over Sorenson, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Freeman lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Sorenson is on top in guard.

Sorenson throws a strike but Freeman rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Freeman throws an elbow that misses. Sorenson uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Freeman's guard. Nice move by Sorenson!

Sorenson clinches up with Freeman and pushes him back against the cage.

Sorenson's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Sorenson avoids a punch combination nicely.

and Freeman counters with a one-two to the body.

Sorenson has taken the fight to the clinch.
Freeman is trying to break free.
Freeman is looking to control Sorenson's arms but Sorenson gets an underhook and turns him. Now Freeman has his back to the cage.

Freeman manages to break the clinch.
Nice jab there from Sorenson.

Sorenson fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Freeman, pushing him back against the cage.

Sorenson jumps guard and drags Freeman to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Freeman missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Freeman loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Sorenson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Sorenson is looking for a triangle here but Freeman uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

Freeman goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Sorenson has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Freeman but great work by Sorenson.

Freeman might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Sorenson creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Sorenson has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Freeman seems a little lost for a moment, as Sorenson dominates the positioning.

Sorenson tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Sorenson has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Sorenson wants to control for a moment but Freeman uses the opportunity to move back to half guard.

Chad Sorenson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Sorenson might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Freeman haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

I've got Sorenson winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

After the fight, Chad Sorenson was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
