Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Drew Wood (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jake Cake (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Drew Wood is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Drew Wood!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jake Cake!
The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, Santiago Holmes and Sandra Marshall.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wood tries to close the distance and clinch but Cake swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
It seemed like Cake was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

Cake gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Cake lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.
Wood being controlled against the cage.
Wood is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Cake is defending well for now.

Cake jumps guard.

Cake is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Wood defends well.
Cake should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Wood got a little sloppy there for a moment and Cake has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Wood has managed to get both his arms back between Cake's legs - danger averted.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Cake looking for a guillotine here but Wood defends easily.
Cake working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Wood.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Wood looking to pass the guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Wood trying to control but Cake is working from the bottom.
Wood works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Cake trying to control but Wood postures up.

Cake kicks Wood off and gets back to his feet.

Cake is positioning himself well to prevent Wood advancing to mount.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Cake slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Wood pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Cake is keeping the position for now.
Cake pulls Wood in to control the position.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Cake has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Wood can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Wood is looking to work some ground and pound but Cake has wrist control.
Wood trying to control but Cake is working from the bottom.
Cake is adopting a defensive guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Wood tries to free his leg and advance position but Cake is retaining full guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
A head kick by Wood misses

and Cake counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jake Cake dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Wood appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.
Wood moves out of range of the body kick from Cake.
Cake blocks the body kick.

Cake dives in and scores a takedown into Wood's guard.
Cake trying to control but Wood is working from the bottom.
Cake wants to pass the guard but Wood is keeping the position.
Cake postures up.

Cake stands and steps away. Wood gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Cake closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Wood tries to clinch but Cake moves out of range.
Cake shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Wood sprawls well. Wood wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Cake gets slowly back to his feet.
Wood goes for a double leg but Cake avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Cake continues to drive forward.

Cake scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Wood pushes Cake off and gets back to his feet.
Cake has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Cake blocks a head kick by Wood.
Wood fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Cake is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.
Wood fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Cake avoids it really well and circles away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Drew Wood. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Cake circles away from the clinch attempt.
Wood closes the distance and clinches up with Cake, looking for a takedown. Wood pushes Cake against the cage but Cake circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Cake swings for the body but Wood moves out of range.
Wood fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Cake doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Cake.
Wood tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.
Cake controlling the pace for now.
Let's hope that Cake has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Wood takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

Cake looking to control and managing it successfully.
Jake Cake has got the better of the ground game so far.
Wood keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Cake gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!
Wood fails to land the takedown.
Cake feints the counter takedown.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jake Cake showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Cake manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Wood is fighting to break Cake's control of his arms but Cake is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Cake is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Cake is pulling down on Wood's head to control his posture.

We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Cake has eaten all the pies!

Cake breaks from the clinch.

Cake has taken the fight to the clinch.
Wood is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Cake to keep the fight standing.
Cake is looking for a takedown.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Wood.

Cake's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Wood shoots in for a takedown but Cake shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Drew Wood. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Cake throws a sloppy head kick and Wood moves out of range easily.
Drew Wood is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Wood moves in looking to clinch but Cake pushes him off.

Cake clinches up with Wood and pushes him back against the cage.

Cake has an active guard here but Wood has managed to pass into half guard.
Cake takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Wood is trying to control. Cake wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Cake is controlling Wood's position as best he can from this difficult position.
Wood throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Cake trying to hold on to Wood's head to control him but Wood postures up.
Wood seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Cake does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Wood tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Cake.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Wood decides to stand up.
Wood looks for a takedown but Cake sprawls well.

Wood tries to sprawl but Cake drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Cake controlling the pace.

We're seeing a lot of stalling here from Cake.
Wood wants to control but Cake is keeping busy.
Jake Cake is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Cake is working for a kimura but Wood is defending it quite comfortably.
Drew Wood has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Cake perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Jake Cake comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Cake has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
