PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bill Boket (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Cracker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Boket has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Bill Boket could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Jack Cracker's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 8 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Bill Boket!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jack Cracker!
The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Peter Branson and David Hoff.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cracker darts in and clinches Boket up against the cage.
Cracker is pushing Boket up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Cracker takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Cracker lands a nice knee to the body.
Boket is breathing heavily.

Cracker pulls guard effortlessly.

Cracker had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Boket defends it easily.

Boket avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Cracker is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Cracker is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

Cracker is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Boket is aware though and is defending well.
Boket in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Cracker has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Boket has passed into side control.
Boket trying to control the position but Cracker is working away.
Cracker is looking to regain half guard here but Boket keeps moving and retains side control.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Cracker tries to strike from the bottom but misses.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Cracker is looking to regain half guard here but Boket keeps moving and retains side control.
Boket working away.
Cracker wants to get back to his feet but Boket drags him back down.
Cracker tries to improve position but can't.
Cracker regains half guard.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Boket thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Cracker's head.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Boket moves nicely into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Cracker tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Boket wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Boket will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Cracker misses with an elbow from the bottom.
Cracker is looking to reverse the position.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Cracker circles away from the clinch attempt.

Boket gets tackled into the cage by Cracker. Cracker maintains the clinch.

Cracker pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Cracker shoots in looking for a takedown. Boket tries to sprawl out of it but Cracker keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Boket manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Cracker forces Boket back against the cage and clinches.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Cracker lands a takedown into guard.

Boket scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Boket throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Cracker.
Cracker swinging wildly here.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Cracker breaks from the clinch.
Boket throws a right and a left that Cracker avoids nicely.
And Cracker tries to counter it with a takedown but Boket pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Boket really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Boket smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Cracker misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Cracker shoots in looking for a takedown. Boket tries to sprawl out of it but Cracker keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Boket manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Jack Cracker will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Bill Boket's cut.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Boket fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Boket is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Boket tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Cracker manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Boket gets tackled into the cage by Cracker. Cracker maintains the clinch.
Cracker lands an elbow inside.

Cracker manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Cracker has control of Boket's left arm, preventing Boket from doing any damage.
Cracker manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Boket manages to get himself to full guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Boket utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Cracker pushing down on Boket's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Cracker is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Cracker is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Boket doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Cracker.

Cracker is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Boket has managed to free his arm - good work.

Cracker is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Cracker wants to take a breather but Boket is having none of it.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Boket wants to improve his position but Cracker is controlling well.
Cracker landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Boket wants to control but Cracker is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Cracker is trying to work for a kimura but Boket is defending well.
Cracker wants to pass the guard but Boket is defending well.

Cracker is working for a kimura but Boket is defending it quite comfortably.

Cracker is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Boket doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Cracker.
Boket is staying active underneath Cracker, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Boket is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Boket tries to get to full guard but Cracker has control of the leg.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

and Cracker holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Cracker pulls Boket into guard.

Cracker is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Boket preventing the sweep.
Boket wants to control from the top but Cracker keeps moving.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Cracker is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Boket is aware though and is defending well.

Boket stands over his opponent and dives in with a flying punch! Cracker throws up his legs and catches Boket in a triangle! Oh this looks tight! Boket tries to escape but he's forced to tap! Wow, fantastic work there by Cracker! That came out of nowhere!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Jack Cracker!
