Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Zane Mason (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brandon Marsden (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Marsden has chosen Feiticeira by Deftones as his entrance music. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 24 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Zane Mason!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 40 - 30 - 1, fighting out of London, Brandon Marsden!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Stewart Dunkirk and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mason scoring well with a low kick there.
Mason's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Marsden connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Mason scrambles back to his feet.
Marsden throws out a leg kick but Mason moves out of range and Marsden only half commits.
Mason ducks right into an uppercut from Marsden.

Marsden stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Mason.

We've been told by Mason's head coaches at Cylon Training Academy that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

This has been an exciting period of action!

Marsden turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Marsden manages to end up in side control.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Marsden throws a strike aimed at the side of Mason's head but Mason avoids it well.

Mason is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Marsden is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Mason is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Marsden is trying to ground and pound but Mason uses the momentary lack of control by Marsden to regain half guard.
Mason won't allow Marsden to pass to mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Zane Mason will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Mason looks to throw the jab but Marsden is out of range.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Marsden! But no joy.
Mason with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Marsden to score with a decent uppercut.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Marsden's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.

Marsden jumps guard and drags Mason to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Marsden bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Mason's guard.

That was a close second round but I would say that Zane Mason will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!


Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Marsden lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Mason has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Mason and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Mason creates some distance for himself and unleashes a massive uppercut that sends Marsden's eyes rolling into the back of his head! Marsden drops to his knees and Mason pours it on with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Zane Mason!
A very excited looking Zane Mason made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
Brandon Marsden was interviewed post fight and said 'I didn't lose that fight in my mind. True victory is to give all of yourself, without regret. '.
