PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mike Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Galen Dall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Diaz comes to the cage accompanied by It's dark and hell is hot. Dall comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Red - Alredy Over kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Mike Diaz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Galen Dall!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Tiny Johnson and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diaz misses with an uppercut.
Diaz takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Dall has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Diaz is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Dall lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.

Dall takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Dall moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.

Dall closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Diaz did well to prevent Dall getting side control.
Diaz has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Dall is working away from the top position though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Diaz has a hand on Dall's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Dall takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!

Dall swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Diaz is now in Dall's guard. A big mistake from Dall there, giving up the dominant position!

Diaz drops back, looking for a kneebar! Dall looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Dall looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Dall!

Diaz wants to control but Dall postures up.
Diaz is looking for a sweep.

Dall is trying to get an arm triangle but Diaz is defending well.

Dall thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Diaz is trying to control Dall's posture but Dall avoids it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Diaz shoots in for a double leg but Dall sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Dall misses with a looping right.

Diaz throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Dall was covering up waiting for the punch and Diaz finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Dall throws his legs up looking for a submission but Diaz uses it to pass to side control.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Diaz is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Dall defends well.

Dall is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Diaz has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Diaz!

Diaz postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Dall is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Diaz, into his guard.


Diaz isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Dall stacks Diaz on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Dall!

Dall avoids a low kick by using good footwork.

Dall swings away with a leg kick that misses.

Diaz uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Dall.

and Dall counters with a nice uppercut.
Dall looks for the body kick but Diaz saw that one coming.
Diaz goes for a double leg but Dall avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Dall continues to drive forward.
Galen Dall seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Diaz throws a push kick but Dall slaps the foot to one side.
Dall throws a leg kick which misses Diaz's front leg but catches the back leg as Diaz tries to avoid it.
Dall connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Dall ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Diaz fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Diaz moves away from the strike by Dall.
Diaz connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Dall's hands.

Good leg kick by Dall there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Dall has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Dall bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Diaz misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Dall throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Diaz's waist but Diaz gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Dall off to one side.
Diaz seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Diaz looks to land a right hand but Dall moved out of range.
Dall lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Dall scores with a jab to the head.
Galen Dall is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Diaz loads up on a big right hand but Dall slips the punch.
Dall moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Diaz ducks right into an uppercut from Dall.
A bone on bone clash there as Diaz blocks the leg kick.
Diaz takes one to the side of the head.

Dall's corner calls for a 1-2. Dall obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

This has been an exciting period of action!

Diaz lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Diaz works the jab nicely.
Diaz gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Dall's corner calls for a 1-2. Dall obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Dall fakes the leg kick and cracks Diaz in the body.
Dall takes a swing at Diaz's ribcage but misses.
Diaz rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Dall cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Diaz misses the jab.
Diaz looks to score with a jab to the body but Dall is just out of range.
Dall throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Diaz sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Diaz tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Dall was well out of range. Poor timing from Diaz.
A big left from Dall misses.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Diaz is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Dall.

And that's the end of the fight!
Galen Dall comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Dall winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
