Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Alec Ball and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lodbrok walks into a stiff left hand from Hessler.
Lodbrok waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Hessler.
Lodbrok connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Lodbrok fails in his attempt to clinch.
A head kick misses from Lodbrok.
Hessler avoids the body shot from Lodbrok.

Lodbrok throws a looping overhand right but Hessler ducks down to avoid it.
Hessler misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Hessler throws a right and a left that Lodbrok avoids nicely.
Lodbrok looks like he wanted to counter with a high kick but didn't throw it.
Hessler throws an ugly left hook that misses
letting Lodbrok counter with a right hand.
Hessler does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Lodbrok throws a jab but it's blocked by Hessler.
Lodbrok changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Hessler throws a solid leg kick but Lodbrok takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Hessler.
Hessler connects with a good right hand that stumbles Lodbrok. Lodbrok circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

Lodbrok takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Hessler.
Lodbrok scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Lodbrok misses with a looping right.
Lodbrok avoids a kick to the body.
Lodbrok slips under a jab.
Hessler looks for the body kick but Lodbrok saw that one coming.
Lodbrok throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Hessler stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Lodbrok digs a good body shot into Hessler's ribs.

Hessler cracks Lodbrok with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

Lodbrok clinches up with Hessler and pushes him back against the cage.

I was talking to Hessler's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

Hessler is pushing Lodbrok up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Hessler lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Hessler.
Hessler will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Lodbrok up against the cage.
Hessler struggles to land a body shot inside as Lodbrok controls his hands.
Lodbrok lands a left hand that snaps the head of Hessler backwards.
Hessler can't find room to land a body shot as Lodbrok controls the action.
Lodbrok misses with an elbow over the top.
Lodbrok has a couple of punches blocked by Hessler.
Hessler has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Hessler drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Lodbrok gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Hessler has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Lodbrok is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Hessler.
Lodbrok looking to throw knees to the head but Hessler is blocking nicely.
Hessler breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Hessler throws a hook but Lodbrok avoids it easily.
Lodbrok misses the body punch
and Hessler connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Hessler takes one on the chin but seems OK.

Lodbrok moves out of range of the body kick from Hessler.
Lodbrok throws a head kick that misses.

Lodbrok rushes Hessler and presses him up against the cage.

Lodbrok seems to have recovered his senses.
Hessler is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
That kick from Lodbrok tenderised Hessler's leg. Hessler is trying to keep his angry face on.

and Hessler counters with a nice uppercut.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Hessler lands an uppercut out of nowhere! Lodbrok falls backwards - clearly groggy! Hessler dives in and finishes the fight with more strikes for a TKO finish!
