Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joe Ruden (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Timothy McGee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McGee is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Invaders must die - The prodigy. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 21 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Joe Ruden!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Timothy McGee!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Ren Mimura and Hirohito Nitta.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ruden does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Nice body punch from McGee.
McGee connects with a body shot that sends Ruden's belly button to the back.

McGee has managed to clinch.
Ruden lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Ruden tries to work over McGee's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

Ruden gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
McGee on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Ruden throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
McGee is looking to improve his position.
McGee wants to control but Ruden is keeping busy and won't allow it.
McGee is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Ruden has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

McGee has hold of Ruden's hands but Ruden slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

McGee has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it.
McGee has hold of Ruden's hands but Ruden slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. McGee connects with a nice short shot to Ruden's temple.

Ruden is pressing down on McGee's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Ruden bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in McGee's guard.

McGee throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.

Ruden walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. McGee checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

McGee is looking for a sweep. Ruden is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
McGee slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
McGee looking to hit a scissor sweep but Ruden is one step ahead there.

Ruden wants to control from the top but McGee keeps moving.
Joe Ruden overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Ruden stands and throws McGee's legs to the side, diving into side control.
McGee is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Ruden is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that McGee can do to turn this around?
