PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Simo Susi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matheus Knorr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Matheus Knorr!
The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Daniel Franklin and David Hoff.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Susi definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Knorr is trying to pull guard but Susi has him pressed against the cage.
Susi throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
Knorr tries to pull guard but Susi won't allow it.
Susi lands a nice shot to the body.
A right handed body shot lands from Susi.
Susi dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage.
Susi scores with a shot to the side of Knorr's head.

Susi lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Knorr.
Knorr's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!

Susi has Knorr pushed against the cage.
Knorr is trying to pull guard but Susi has him pressed against the cage.
Simo Susi has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Matheus Knorr.
Susi lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.

Susi's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
The crowd are getting pretty annoyed with Susi for his constant stalling in the clinch and are voicing their displeasure.
Susi lands a right hand.

Knorr tries to pull guard but Susi forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Knorr is trying to pull guard but Susi turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
The referee calls for Susi to work.
Knorr jumps guard but Susi turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Susi has hold of one of Knorr's legs. Knorr is fighting the takedown attempt but Susi gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Susi has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Knorr is proving hard to escape from.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Knorr escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Susi gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Susi not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Knorr is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Susi defends well.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Susi slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Knorr has his foot on Susi's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Susi works his way back into a safe position though.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Knorr is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Susi is aware though and is defending well.

Knorr working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Susi doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Susi manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Susi is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Susi is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Knorr has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Susi is looking to defend but Knorr has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Susi! Knorr pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Susi taps out and this one is all over!
