PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Waylon Joy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tommy Truck (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Waylon Joy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Tommy Truck!
The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Konstantin Menshow and Vladimir Khabensky.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Joy misses with an uppercut
and Truck counters with a right hand to the body.
Joy misses the shot to the body.

Joy has Truck up against the cage in a clinch.

Joy is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Truck can't fight it off and eventually Joy manages to take the fight to the floor. Truck looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Truck trying to control the position.
Joy wants to control from the top but Truck keeps moving.
Truck is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Joy decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Truck, up you get!
Truck has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Waylon Joy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Joy uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Truck.

Joy gets a clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Joy tries for a takedown but Truck manages to get underhooks.

Truck is fighting off a takedown attempt but Joy is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Truck to the mat. Truck regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Truck is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Joy looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

Joy gets to his feet. Truck looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Joy tries a head kick but it misses.
Joy swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Truck misses with a series of wild punches.
Joy uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Truck has time to react.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Joy on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Joy connects with a looping right hand.
The crowd cheers as Joy lands an impressive looking overhand right. Truck doesn't seem phased though.
Joy is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Truck misses with a body kick.
Joy lands a jab to Truck's midsection.
Truck looks winded!
Joy with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Joy ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Truck moves away.
Joy lands a slapping body shot.
Joy throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Joy bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Truck's head backwards.

Joy gets a clinch.
Joy is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Truck is defending well for now.

Joy has picked Truck up - he's going for a ride! Joy dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Joy looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Truck with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Joy decides to return to a standing position.
Truck shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

Joy closes the distance and clinches.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Joy has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Truck clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

Joy looking for the choke but no joy.
Joy definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Joy working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet.

Joy has both hooks in and is working for a choke. Truck is in real trouble here. Joy gets an arm under the chin and tightens the submission attempt... is this the end? Yes, Truck is tapping out! Joy wins by rear naked choke!
