Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Luke Vader (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Igorr Hatkis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Luke Vader has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Luke Vader!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Igorr Hatkis!
The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Chris Saunders and Paul Gruel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A right-left combo lands from Vader.
Luke Vader seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The fighters circle momentarily. Vader darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Vader shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Hatkis pinned against the cage. Hatkis gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Hatkis feints the counter takedown.
Vader with a hook.
Vader looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Hatkis throws the left hand but Vader avoids the punch easily.
Vader scores with a jab. Hatkis acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Hatkis counters by moving into the clinch.
A head punch on the inside from Hatkis fails to land.
Vader throws a punch but it's blocked by Hatkis.
Vader blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Hatkis effectively controlling the action here.

Hatkis blocks an uppercut.
Vader is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
Vader is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Hatkis pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Vader is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Hatkis is defending well.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Luke Vader. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Hatkis tries for a takedown. No joy.

Vader misses with a short punch on the inside.
Vader blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Hatkis tries to work over Vader's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

Hatkis has clasped his hands together around Vader's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Hatkis connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Vader some visible discomfort.

Vader tries to strike but it doesn't land.
Hatkis lands a decent elbow from side control.
Hatkis in side control, just content to control the action for now.
Vader on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Vader tries to get out of the position.
Hatkis scores with punches from side control.
Vader tries to get back to half guard but can't.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Vader is working hard here to advance position.

Hatkis lands a decent elbow from side control.
Vader is trying to buck Hatkis off.
Vader takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Vader is looking for a sweep.
Hatkis remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Check out the look on Hatkis's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!

Vader takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Hatkis controlling from side mount.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Igorr Hatkis will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Vader!
Hatkis takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

Nice straight punches there by Vader. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Vader.
Hatkis is still on wobbly legs! Can Vader finish him?

Vader drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Hatkis preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Igorr Hatkis has got the better of the ground game so far.
Vader landing some decent shots from guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Hatkis is on top in guard.

Vader is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Hatkis seems to have recovered his senses.
Vader looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Vader throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Vader blocks the strikes from Hatkis.
Hatkis has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Vader prevents Hatkis from improving his position.
Hatkis is still trying to improve position.
Vader lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Vader sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Hatkis defending well though.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Hatkis gets back to full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hatkis is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Hatkis keeping moving, preventing Vader from controlling successfully.
Hatkis looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Vader's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Vader in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Vader trying to control but Hatkis is working from the bottom.
Vader sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Hatkis bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Vader's guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Hatkis is continuing to stall.
Vader is trying to keep Hatkis in close.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
A swing and a miss from Vader.
Hatkis with the counter takedown but Vader avoids it easily.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Vader displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Hatkis throws out the jab.
Hatkis lands with a right hand.
Vader steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Hatkis.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!


Vader tests Hatkis's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Vader is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Vader connects with the punch.
Hatkis looks to land a right hand but Vader moved out of range.
Hatkis on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Hatkis is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Vader.
Hatkis throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Vader tries to counter with a takedown but Hatkis is quick to defend against it.
Hatkis takes a shot to the body in his stride.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hatkis looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Vader tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Hatkis was well out of range. Poor timing from Vader.

Hatkis misses with a straight left.
Vader scores with a sloppy right hand. Hatkis should have avoided that one.
Vader connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Vader lets his hands go wild with a nice combination. Left! Right! Uppercut! Spinning backfist! Hatkis goes down and covers up as Vader starts wailing on him! The ref watches the action closely before stepping in and putting a stop to the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:26 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Luke Vader!
Luke Vader decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
