Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Alex Coxall!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 13 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Barack Obama!
The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Obama tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Coxall is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Obama.
Coxall misses with a looping right.
A combination from Obama does no damage.

Obama closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Coxall did well to prevent Obama getting side control.
Obama is pressing down on Coxall's thigh, looking to free his foot. Coxall is holding on for now.
Obama trying to control the action but Coxall is working from the bottom.

Obama is trying to work for a kimura but Coxall is defending well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Obama wants to pass the guard but Coxall is defending well.

Coxall is defending against the submission attempts here by Obama.
Coxall moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Obama passes Coxall's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Obama keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Coxall is looking to improve his position.

Coxall actively working from the bottom here.
Obama works his foot free and advances to mount.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Obama looking to control but Coxall is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Obama tries to take Coxall's back but instead Coxall uses the opportunity to regain half guard.
Coxall controlling the position for now.

Obama is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Coxall doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Obama.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Coxall holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Coxall is staying active underneath Obama, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Barack Obama dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Coxall circles away from the clinch attempt.
Barack Obama seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Obama.
Coxall throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Coxall fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Coxall fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Obama has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Obama has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Coxall displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Obama throws out the jab.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The fight stays on the outside here - Obama looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Obama moves into range and clinches up with Coxall.
Coxall misses with some punches.
Coxall lands a body punch in the clinch.

Coxall gets underhooks to prevent Obama's takedown attempt.

Obama tries to work over Coxall's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Obama misses with a body punch.
Coxall blocks an uppercut.

Coxall breaks from the clinch.
Coxall lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Obama circles away quickly and effectively.
Obama wants to clinch but Coxall slips to the side
and Coxall counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Obama stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Coxall.
Coxall explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.

Coxall gets tackled into the cage by Obama. Obama maintains the clinch.

Obama gets control of Coxall's arms and successfully pulls guard. Obama will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Coxall wants to control from the top but Obama keeps moving.

Obama is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Coxall slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Coxall swings around for an armbar but Obama sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Coxall's guard.

Obama seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Coxall is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
