Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Colin Kennedy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Srboljub Petrovic!
The judges for this bout are , Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Petrovic gets a takedown into half guard.

Kennedy kicks Petrovic off and gets back to his feet.

Petrovic tries to sprawl but Kennedy drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Petrovic manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Kennedy keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Kennedy is pushing Petrovic up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

Petrovic pulls guard effortlessly.

Petrovic is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Kennedy is aware though and is defending well.
Petrovic looking to control.
Petrovic wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Petrovic tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Kennedy missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Kennedy accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Kennedy engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Petrovic gets a takedown into half guard.
Kennedy keeps control of the position for the meantime.

Kennedy throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Petrovic with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Petrovic missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Petrovic is taking a breather. Kennedy says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Petrovic looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Petrovic is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Kennedy wants to control but Petrovic is keeping busy and won't allow it.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Kennedy is controlling Petrovic's position as best he can from this difficult position.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Kennedy scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Petrovic manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Kennedy keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.

Petrovic wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Petrovic manages to pull guard.

Petrovic manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Petrovic turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Petrovic manages to end up in side control.
Petrovic controls the position.
It looks like Petrovic might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Kennedy wants to control but Petrovic postures up.

Petrovic decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Srboljub Petrovic seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Petrovic darts in and clinches Kennedy up against the cage.
Petrovic avoiding damage.

Petrovic turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Petrovic throws a series of punches but Kennedy avoids them all with ease.
Kennedy tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Petrovic manages to circle out of the way.
Petrovic throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Kennedy looks to score with a jab to the body but Petrovic is just out of range.
Kennedy has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Petrovic.

Petrovic drives through and clinches with Kennedy against the cage.

Petrovic jumps into guard, dragging Kennedy to the mat.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Petrovic looking for a sweep. Not yet Petrovic, not yet.
Petrovic has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Petrovic wants to sweep but no luck.

Kennedy gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Colin Kennedy is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Kennedy drives through with a takedown into guard.

Petrovic wriggles free and stands up.

Petrovic clinches up with Kennedy and pushes him back against the cage.
Petrovic has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Kennedy is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.

Petrovic looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Srboljub Petrovic has got the better of the ground game so far.
Petrovic wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Kennedy manages to pass to side control.
Petrovic is trying to get back to full guard.
Kennedy is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Petrovic tries to roll over but Kennedy keeps him under control.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Kennedy connects with a nice short shot to Petrovic's temple.
Petrovic wants to improve his position but Kennedy is controlling well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Petrovic looks like he's trying to stand up.
Kennedy sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Petrovic defending well though.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!



Petrovic gets a clinch.

Kennedy manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Kennedy avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Kennedy controls Petrovic momentarily but Petrovic frees himself.
Petrovic is looking to advance position but Kennedy has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Petrovic is wriggling around trying to escape.

Kennedy looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.

Petrovic wants to try and get back to his feet.
Petrovic wants to hold on but Kennedy pushes him away.
Petrovic slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Kennedy thows a huge punch but Petrovic dodges it nicely.

Kennedy is looking for a kimura but Petrovic is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Kennedy to get the leverage.
Petrovic wants to control but Kennedy is keeping busy and won't allow it.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Petrovic is positioning himself well to prevent Kennedy advancing to mount.
Kennedy is keen to just control but Petrovic is a slippery customer.
Petrovic tries to roll over but Kennedy keeps him under control.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Petrovic gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Kennedy to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Kennedy trying to control the position from guard on top but Petrovic is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Kennedy distracts Petrovic with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Petrovic is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Kennedy missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Petrovic is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Petrovic has his foot on Kennedy's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Kennedy works his way back into a safe position though.
Petrovic manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Kennedy manages to get himself to full guard.


Kennedy wriggles free and stands up.

Petrovic bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Petrovic takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
You can see the frustration on Kennedy's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Kennedy is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.
Petrovic wants to lay and pray for a moment but Kennedy keeps working.
Colin Kennedy has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Srboljub Petrovic is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Kennedy is trying to get back to half guard.

Well Petrovic has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
