The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Radbod Blank and Aafke Stam.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Frederick throws a body shot but no joy.
Frederick instigates a clinch.
Clothe tightens his grip and picks Frederick up, before dumping him to the ground. Frederick manages to land in guard.
Frederick not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Clothe works over Frederick with some ground and pound from guard.
Frederick is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Frederick looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Clothe slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Clothe chips away with some ground and pound.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Frederick wants to stand up but Clothe is controlling him.

Clothe has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Frederick is proving hard to escape from.
Clothe distracts Frederick with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Frederick wants to stand and escape but Clothe is having none of it.
Clothe would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Josua Clothe seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Clothe swats away the attempt to clinch by Frederick.
And Clothe tries to counter it with a takedown but Frederick pushes his down on his head and steps out.

Clothe closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Clothe lands in his opponent's guard.
Clothe wants to get up but he can't break Frederick's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Clothe not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Frederick will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Frederick is trying to maintain the position but Clothe is very close to passing his half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Frederick knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Clothe on the ground.

Clothe is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Frederick defends it well.
Frederick really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Clothe lands a nice short elbow.

Frederick forces Clothe back against the cage and clinches.
Clothe is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Frederick pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Clothe wants to break free but Frederick has control.
Frederick seems to have got his legs back now.
Frederick looking to stall.
Clothe goes for a takedown in the clinch but Frederick prevents it.

Clothe is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Frederick gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Hung Frederick has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Josua Clothe.
Frederick is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Clothe is keeping busy.
Clothe tries to pull guard but Frederick holds him up against the cage and eventually Clothe drops back down to his feet.

Frederick is looking for a sweep. Clothe is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Clothe is thwarting Frederick's attempts to control the position.
Frederick moves into full guard.
Clothe is pushing down on Frederick's leg trying to pass to half guard. Frederick is fighting to maintain full guard but Clothe has managed to sneak the leg through.

Clothe scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Frederick trying to control but Clothe postures up.
Clothe perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Clothe working over Frederick with some ground and pound. Frederick looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Frederick wants to control the action here but instead Clothe manages to pass to full mount!
Clothe has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Clothe has control of Frederick's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Frederick regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Clothe controlling the pace for now.
Let's hope that Clothe has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Frederick flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.
The referee warns Frederick that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Frederick reaches up to try and control the position but Clothe seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! Frederick rolls and tries to escape and now Clothe has his back!
Clothe is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Frederick has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Clothe has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Frederick taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Clothe doesn't care though - he's delighted!
