The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Frye moves into range and clinches up with Rutledge.

Frye decides to pull guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rutledge throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Frye works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Rutledge working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Frye's head.
Rutledge could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rutledge postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Rutledge is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Frye has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Rutledge is looking to defend but Frye has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Rutledge! Frye pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Rutledge taps out and this one is all over!
