Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Bruce Banner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mini Stipe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stipe comes into a darkened arena with his song building. PRIDE FC - Opening Theme Song kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Bruce Banner!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Mini Stipe!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, Chris Edwards and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Banner tries a head kick but it misses.
Banner lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Banner.

Stipe looks like he wants to counter punch here.
The fight stays on the outside here - Banner looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

We've been informed that Stipe has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Banner is trying to stall.
Stipe drops down looking for an ankle pick but Banner pulls his leg out and moves away.
Banner misses with an uppercut. Stipe saw that one coming.
Stipe paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Stipe ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Banner is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
A little jabbing left from Stipe on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Stipe thuds his right hand into Banner's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

Banner closes the distance and clinches.
Stipe jumps guard but Banner turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Banner looks to throw an elbow but misses.
Banner with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Stipe.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Stipe lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Stipe tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Banner's elbow.
Banner tries to throw a body punch but Stipe avoids it by throwing Banner back against the cage.
Stipe manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

Banner pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Banner throws a head kick that misses.
Stipe misses with a looping left.
Banner wants to clinch but Stipe slips to the side
and Stipe cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Banner avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Banner is looking to counter punch.

Banner misses with the body kick

and Stipe counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Banner keeping moving, preventing Stipe from controlling successfully.
Stipe trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Stipe has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Banner is trying to control the position but Stipe postures up.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Stipe looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Banner makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Banner.
Stipe lands a couple of digs.
Banner wants to stand but Stipe is controlling the position.
Stipe wants to control from the top but Banner keeps moving.
Banner not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Stipe postures up and lands a big shot to Banner's brow.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Banner working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Stipe doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Stipe manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Banner tries to land a sweep but no joy.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Mini Stipe will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Banner tries to clinch but Stipe moves away
and Stipe counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Banner throws a sloppy head kick and Stipe moves out of range easily.
Mini Stipe seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Banner is rocked!
No joy there for Banner, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Oh Banner is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Banner tries to close the distance and clinch up but Stipe swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Stipe is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Banner avoids the body shot from Stipe.
Stipe throws a jab when Banner was well out of range.
Banner went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.

Banner takes the fight into the clinch.
Banner is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.

Stipe throws a punch but it's blocked by Banner.
Our sources have told us that Banner has been working on his knees in the buildup to the fight.
Banner throws an elbow but it's blocked.

Stipe cracks Banner with a nice body shot.
Stipe wants a takedown but no success here.
Banner blocks a punch to the side of the head.

Stipe wants the takedown. Banner is fighting it off but Stipe persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Banner's guard against the cage.

Banner had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Stipe defends it easily.

Banner trying to keep a closed guard but Stipe is proving a slippery customer.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Banner is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Banner wants to sweep here but Stipe controlling him for the moment.

Stipe lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Stipe scores with a big shot! Banner's head bounced off the canvas with a huge thud! More strikes land and the referee has jumped in to save Banner! He was hurt real bad - good stoppage!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:52 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mini Stipe!
Mini Stipe seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
