Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Shaun Wilkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chong Wei (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wei has a pretty significant injury - he really shouldn't be fighting right now but he's a warrior and he's here none the less! This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Shaun Wilkins!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 1, fighting out of New York, Chong Wei!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Dean Styles and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wei throws a sloppy head kick

so Wilkins counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Wei looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Wei utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Wilkins keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Wei's head.

Wilkins gets to his feet - Wei follows without any prompting.

Wilkins gets the takedown into side control.
Wilkins really is a fat lump.
Wilkins postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

Wilkins thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Wilkins is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Wei is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Wilkins's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Wei gets caught napping as Wilkins dives in and scores a takedown. Wei manages to retain guard.
Wei is looking to stand back up but Wilkins counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Wei.


Wilkins is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Wei is just riding it out for now. Wilkins eventually gives up the hold.
Wei has hold of Wilkins's hands but Wilkins slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Wei is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Wilkins tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Wei.

Wilkins rushes Wei and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Wilkins breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Wilkins looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Wei!

Wilkins pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Wilkins manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Wei on his heels. He'll look to pass Wei's guard now, I'm sure.

Wei has his feet on Wilkins's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

Wei shoots in and bounces Wilkins off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Wei seems to have recovered his senses.

Wilkins has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Shaun Wilkins overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Wei is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Wilkins doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Wei.
