PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Georges Georges (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Douglas White (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Georges Georges!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Douglas White!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Tiny Johnson and Cecil Peabody.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

White instigates a clinch.
Georges looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
A nice glancing elbow lands by White.
Georges tries a body shot but White blocks it.
Georges definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
White gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
White just leaning against Georges, taking a breather.
White lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Georges backwards.

White breaks from the clinch.
Georges tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but White was well out of range. Poor timing from Georges.

White instigates a clinch.
White stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.

White breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
White misses with a wild combination.
White dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
White swinging wildly here.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
The crowd cheers as White lands an impressive looking overhand right. Georges doesn't seem phased though.
Georges drops his hands momentarily and White takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

That's one minute gone in the round.

White cracks Georges with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Georges looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can White finish him?

Georges is rocked!

White has Georges up against the cage in a clinch.
Oh Georges is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
White stalling.

White breaks the clinch.
Georges seems to have got his legs back now.
Some wild striking there from White.
White throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

White takes the fight into the clinch.
This has been an exciting period of action!
White working some nice short punches in the clinch.

White pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

White gets a clinch.

White manages to break the clinch.
White will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

White drops Georges with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Georges looks back up at him and smiles so White waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
No joy there for White, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

White clinches up against the cage.
White lands with a short head shot on the inside.
White lands an elbow inside.
White creates some distance for himself and unleashes a massive uppercut that sends Georges's eyes rolling into the back of his head! Georges drops to his knees and White pours it on with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:32 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Douglas White!
A relieved looking Douglas White thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
