Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 26 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jack Jones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Lary Divers!
The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Luis Engracia and Matheus Silva.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Divers tries to sprawl but Jones drives through with a takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jones is working for a kimura but Divers is defending it quite comfortably.
Divers wants to get back to full guard.
Divers trying to control here.
Divers is trying to control but Jones passes into side control!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Jones is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Divers has escaped the position, nice work there.
Divers is pushing Jones's head away, looking to escape. Jones manages to hold on to the position though.

That's one minute gone in the round.

We've been hearing good reports from Jones's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
Divers sneaks back into half guard.
Jones wants to pass the guard but Divers is defending well.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Divers is trying to maintain the position but Jones is very close to passing his half guard.
Jones prevents Divers from standing back up.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Jones keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Jones wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Lary Divers seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Jones closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Divers's guard.
Jones tries to free his leg and advance position but Divers is retaining full guard.

Divers is trying to keep Jones in close.
Divers can't keep his opponent in guard - Jones advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Divers wants to control but Jones is keeping busy.
Divers is trying to control but Jones passes into side control!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Divers is wriggling around trying to escape but Jones has hooked up a rear naked choke! Is it over??? Is it... you're damn right it is! Divers taps out and Jones picks up the big win! Great work there by Jones!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:10 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Jack Jones!
A relieved looking Jack Jones thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
