Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Luther Mason (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Strikey Wrestlerman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Luther Mason has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Luther Mason!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Strikey Wrestlerman!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Trevor Gratis and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Wrestlerman has closed the distance and engaged Mason in a clinch.
The referee is keeping an eye on Wrestlerman - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

Mason gets a trip takedown into half guard.
Mason lands strikes from half guard.
Mason lands strikes from half guard.
Mason really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Mason slows the pace down in half guard.
Mason seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Wrestlerman for as long as he can get away with.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Mason continues to stall.
Mason tries to pass the half guard into mount. Wrestlerman knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Mason lands a nice short elbow.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Mason has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mason's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Wrestlerman throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Mason counters with a stiff right hand.

Mason bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mason remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Wrestlerman is looking to regain half guard here but Mason keeps moving and retains side control.

Wrestlerman is not content to let Mason control the position.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Mason is looking to take a break and control but Wrestlerman is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Mason working the ground and pound but Wrestlerman is defending the strikes.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Wrestlerman can do anything to dispel that myth.
Mason is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Wrestlerman's shoulder. That is not cool.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Wrestlerman closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Wrestlerman throws an elbow that misses.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Luther Mason dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!



Wrestlerman gets a clinch.
Wrestlerman lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Mason tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Mason goes for a takedown in the clinch but Wrestlerman prevents it.
Wrestlerman lands a nice elbow.


It looks like Luther Mason has been cut.

Wrestlerman landing knees to the body.
Mason tries to circle away but Wrestlerman has him pinned against the cage.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Wrestlerman.
Wrestlerman lands an elbow that stopped Mason in his tracks for a moment.
Mason drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Wrestlerman scores a nice knee to the body.
Wrestlerman lands an elbow inside that Mason shrugs off.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Mason jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Wrestlerman walks away with a smile on his face. Mason gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Luther Mason. That's going to take a lot out of him.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Mason enables Wrestlerman to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Mason manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Mason controls Wrestlerman momentarily but Wrestlerman frees himself.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Wrestlerman is in close to Mason's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Mason avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Wrestlerman engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Wrestlerman's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Wrestlerman has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Wrestlerman rushes Mason and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Wrestlerman throws a knee to the head but misses.
Wrestlerman lands a nice elbow from the clinch.

Wrestlerman comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.

Wrestlerman gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Wrestlerman controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Mason will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Wrestlerman fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Mason, pushing him back against the cage.
Wrestlerman comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
A nice right hand lands inside from Wrestlerman.

Mason has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Wrestlerman regains guard immediately.
Wrestlerman is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Mason is stalling in the full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Strikey Wrestlerman showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The cut man is working on Luther Mason's cut.
That's time! Mason's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Mason tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Wrestlerman paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Wrestlerman misses with a few strikes there.
Mason swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.

Mason wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Wrestlerman manages to pass to side control.

Mason wants to control but Wrestlerman is keeping busy.
Still in half guard, Wrestlerman seems content to control.
Wrestlerman drops an elbow to the side of Mason's head.
Nice strikes from Wrestlerman there.
Wrestlerman trying to control the action but Mason is working from the bottom.
Wrestlerman might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Mason haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Strikey Wrestlerman comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Wrestlerman has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
