And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 21 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jeremy Stapleton!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Sam Margolis and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stapleton throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Southbrook shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Stapleton sprawls well. Stapleton wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Southbrook gets slowly back to his feet.
Stapleton misses with a hook
and Southbrook counters with a lovely straight right hand!


It looks like Jeremy Stapleton has been cut.
Southbrook has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Phoenix Mixed Martial Arts in the buildup to the fight.
Stapleton looks to land a right hand but Southbrook moved out of range.
Southbrook dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Stapleton tries a head kick but it misses.
Stapleton takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Stapleton misses with a left hand
enabling Southbrook to counter with a crisp jab.
Southbrook dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Stapleton throws a jab but it's blocked by Southbrook.
Southbrook looks for a takedown but Stapleton sprawls well.
Stapleton scores with a sloppy right hand. Southbrook should have avoided that one.


It looks like Saiyan Southbrook has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Stapleton avoids the body shot from Southbrook.
Stapleton throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Southbrook throws out a leg kick but Stapleton moves out of range and Southbrook only half commits.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Stapleton misses with a hook
and Southbrook counters with a nice body shot.
Southbrook just misses with a punch to the body.
Stapleton follows through with a counter body kick but it doesn't land.
Jeremy Stapleton seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Southbrook misses with a low kick as Stapleton jumps back.
Southbrook lands a really nice looking cross but Stapleton seems unphased.
Southbrook is looking to wear down Stapleton with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Stapleton throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Southbrook sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Southbrook throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Southbrook scores with a crisp jab that stopped Stapleton in his tracks.
Stapleton throws a body kick that misses.
Southbrook uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Stapleton.

Stapleton lands a left and a right that send Southbrook crashing to the mat, dazed. Stapleton thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!


Southbrook is rocked!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Stapleton ducks down into range and throws a picture perfect right hook that connects with Southbrook's jaw. Southbrook's eyes stare off into space as he falls to the mat, out cold! Stapleton does the decent thing and steps back, rather than landing any shots to his unconscious opponent.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Jeremy Stapleton!
An out of breath Jeremy Stapleton thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
