Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jackson Tate (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alastair Dunn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Tate might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Engine No. 9. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 9 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jackson Tate!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Alastair Dunn!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tate displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Dunn.
Dunn shoots in but Tate avoids the takedown attempt easily.
A little feinted left hand from Tate on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Dunn fails with the takedown.
Tate throws a big counter combination but Dunn scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Jackson Tate has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alastair Dunn.
Dunn closes this distance looking for a takedown but Tate circles away.
Dunn shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dunn slips a jab from Tate.
Dunn shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Tate pinned against the cage. Tate gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Tate fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Dunn is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
Dunn shoots in but no luck this time.
A counter left hand to the body from Tate misses its target.
Dunn throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Tate's waist but Tate gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Dunn off to one side.
Dunn shoots for a takedown but Tate saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
As Dunn looks to move away, Tate throws a big counter combo but Dunn just gets out of the way.

Tate gets caught flat footed, as Dunn shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Dunn wants to control from the top but Tate keeps moving.

Tate is looking for a triangle but Dunn pushes his legs off easily.
Tate wants to sweep here but Dunn controlling him for the moment.
Dunn lands a couple of digs.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Tate is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Tate looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Dunn is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Dunn distracts Tate with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Dunn content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Dunn trying to control the position from guard on top but Tate is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Dunn pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Tate is keeping the position for now.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Dunn distracts Tate with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Dunn landing with the ground and pound.


Tate is rocked!
Dunn postures up from his opponent's guard, before exploding into some vicious ground and pound! Tate covers up, he's hurt! Dunn keeps throwing the strikes, glancing at the referee... Will he stop it?? One more big shot from Dunn and the ref steps in to end the fight! Dunn can't hide his delight as he celebrates with his corner.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Alastair Dunn!
Our winner, Alastair Dunn, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
