Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Nik Nunes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sam Stout (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nik Nunes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sam Stout!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nunes shoots in for a takedown but Stout shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Stout winds up and cracks Nunes with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Stout is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Stout not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Nunes looking for submissions off his back.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Stout seems to be working for a kimura but Nunes defends the submission attempt.

Nunes definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Nunes tries to lock up and control but Stout gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Stout fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Stout swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Nunes is now in Stout's guard. A big mistake from Stout there, giving up the dominant position!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Nunes pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Stout is keeping the position for now.

Stout pulls Nunes in close to his closed guard and prevents Nunes from doing any damage or advancing position.

Stout kicks Nunes off and gets to his feet.

Stout throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Nunes's waist but Nunes gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Stout off to one side.

and Stout counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Stout postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

Stout has gone for a leg lock! Nunes slips out almost immediately though and dives into Stout's guard.

Nunes utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Stout working his ground and pound in the gym. So far it seems to be working well.

Stout postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Nunes is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Stout, into his guard.

Stout seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Stout is looking to stand up but Nunes isn't so interested in that idea.

Stout wants to get back to his feet but Nunes is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Stout drops back, looking for a kneebar! Nunes looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Nunes looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Nunes!

Nunes is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Stout knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!


A telegraphed takedown attempt from Stout is defended easily by Nunes.

Stout throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Nunes tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Stout is in Nunes's guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Stout is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Nunes closes the distance and pushes Stout back into the cage.

Stout has Nunes pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Stout pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Nunes tumbling to the mat - Stout dives into Nunes's guard.
Stout is working Nunes over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Nunes has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Stout can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
