Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ulfar Reynisson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gregory O Connor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ulfar Reynisson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Gregory O Connor!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Reed Andrews and Jorge Garcia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Reynisson moves in looking to clinch but O Connor pushes him off.
O Connor throws out a counter right but Reynisson avoids it with no problem.
O Connor swings and misses with a hook to the body.
O Connor throws a leg kick but Reynisson moved away.
Reynisson is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from O Connor.
O Connor misses the shot to the body.
Reynisson wants to clinch up but O Connor keeps it at a distance.
Reynisson is looking to clinch.

Reynisson dives in and scores a takedown into O Connor's guard.
O Connor is trying to keep Reynisson in close.
Reynisson is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

O Connor wants to control from the top but Reynisson keeps moving.

Reynisson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for O Connor on the ground.

O Connor winds up and cracks Reynisson with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Reynisson on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Reynisson tries to get out of the position.
Reynisson wants to get back to full guard.

O Connor thows a huge punch but Reynisson dodges it nicely.
O Connor is taking a breather. Reynisson says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Reynisson has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. O Connor is working away from the top position though.
O Connor thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Reynisson's head.
O Connor not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Reynisson kicks O Connor off and gets back to his feet.
Reynisson throws a head kick that misses.

O Connor throws a right hand that Reynisson ducks under and follows up with a left that Reynisson also avoids with ease.
O Connor has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Reynisson is landing a low percentage of strikes.

Reynisson avoids a kick to the body.
A combination from Reynisson does no damage.
Reynisson definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
O Connor blocks a jab.
O Connor throws a front kick that sends Reynisson stumbling back into the cage.

O Connor closes the distance and pushes Reynisson back into the cage.
A nice left hand lands by O Connor.
O Connor gets through Reynisson's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
O Connor lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
O Connor throws a head punch that misses.
Reynisson tries to circle away but O Connor has him pinned against the cage.
O Connor misses with a punch to the body.

O Connor lands a left hand that snaps the head of Reynisson backwards.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

O Connor breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Reynisson tries to bum rush O Connor with a series of wild strikes but O Connor uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
O Connor stuns Reynisson with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

O Connor gets caught flat footed, as Reynisson shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Gregory O Connor dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Reynisson gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and O Connor counters with a two punch combo.
O Connor misses the jab.
Reynisson looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger.
Reynisson slips a jab and a cross from O Connor.

Reynisson manages to get an easy takedown there - catching O Connor on his heels. He'll look to pass O Connor's guard now, I'm sure.
O Connor wants to sweep but no luck.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
O Connor is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

O Connor thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Reynisson's head.
O Connor is keen to just control but Reynisson is a slippery customer.
O Connor works his way into full mount!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
O Connor pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

Reynisson wants to control but O Connor is having none of it.

O Connor cracks Reynisson with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
O Connor has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
O Connor misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Reynisson tries to reverse the position but O Connor maintains control.

Reynisson really wants to buck O Connor off and get back to his feet.
O Connor with shots to the head and body - Reynisson looks very uncomfortable down there.
Reynisson takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
O Connor scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Reynisson?

O Connor controlling his opponent.
O Connor has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
O Connor can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Reynisson is looking to escape.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, O Connor cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Reynisson keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Reynisson flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.
O Connor tries to control but Reynisson wriggling away.

O Connor might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Reynisson haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
O Connor is landing with some decent strikes but Reynisson is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Reynisson tries to reverse the position but O Connor maintains control.
Reynisson wants to get back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Gregory O Connor showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!



Reynisson decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
O Connor is trying to control but can't.
Reynisson trying to control the pace.
Reynisson is looking to advance position but O Connor won't allow it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Reynisson takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Reynisson is looking to pass O Connor's guard but actually O Connor recovers to full guard.

O Connor misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
O Connor wants to control but Reynisson is keeping him busy.
Reynisson tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but O Connor wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
O Connor wants to lay and pray for a moment but Reynisson keeps working.

O Connor decides to stand up, so the ref orders Reynisson to his feet.

and O Connor counters with a nice uppercut.
O Connor cracks the inside of Reynisson's front leg.
Gregory O Connor is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Reynisson tries to score a power double leg takedown but O Connor sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Reynisson somewhat.

O Connor fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
O Connor swings for the body but Reynisson moves out of range.
Reynisson has a takedown stuffed.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ulfar Reynisson. That's going to take a lot out of him.

O Connor works his way to full guard. Good work.

Reynisson tries to stand but O Connor is controlling from the bottom.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
O Connor wants to sweep here but Reynisson controlling him for the moment.
Ulfar Reynisson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

O Connor manages to escape and get back to his feet.

Gregory O Connor comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well O Connor has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Gregory O Connor tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
