Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 31 - 17 - 2, fighting out of Montreal, Samuel Vimes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ray Lewis!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, William Peck and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lewis checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Lewis doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.
Lewis jabbing away but nothing is landing.
It looked like Vimes was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Vimes throws a low kick but it's checked well by Lewis.
Vimes stuns Lewis with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Lewis punishes Vimes's body with a nice straight punch.
Vimes throws a lazy uppercut
and Lewis counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Vimes misses with a hook
and Lewis counters with a low kick, right behind Vimes 's knee.
Vimes throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Lewis raises up his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.
Lewis has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Vimes throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Lewis counters with a lovely shot to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Vimes missing with a left hand there. Lewis was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Lewis wants to counter with a clinch but Vimes pushes him away.
Nice defenses there by Lewis.
Lewis connects with a good right hand that stumbles Vimes. Vimes circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

and Lewis counters with a flying knee that drops Vimes!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Lewis is pushing down on Vimes's leg trying to pass to half guard. Vimes is fighting to maintain full guard but Lewis has managed to sneak the leg through.

Vimes is not content to let Lewis control the position.
Vimes won't allow Lewis to pass to mount.
Lewis wants to lay and pray for a moment but Vimes keeps working.
Lewis content to control rather than advance.
Lewis uses his free foot to push down on Vimes's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Vimes.

Vimes avoids a series of strikes thrown by Lewis.

Vimes holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Lewis tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Vimes tries to hold on but Lewis pushes him away.
Lewis misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Lewis throws a strike there. Vimes manages to avoid it well and slips a leg under to get to half guard.
Lewis thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Vimes's head.

Lewis throwing shots but Vimes is blocking nicely.
Vimes keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Lewis trying to mount his opponent but Vimes defends it.
Lewis sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Vimes defending well though.
Vimes is staying active underneath Lewis, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Lewis is trying to control. Vimes wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Lewis takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Lewis wants to lay and pray for a moment but Vimes keeps working.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Lewis throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Lewis is controlling the pace.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Vimes swings away with a body shot that misses
and Lewis counters with a nice uppercut.
Vimes throws a body kick, spinning off balance
and Lewis counters with a straight right hand.
Vimes ducks under a wild hook from Lewis.
Vimes was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Lewis is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Vimes.
Lewis checks the leg kick nicely there.
Vimes misses with a low kick.
Vimes ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
It looked like Vimes was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Lewis.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Lewis.
Vimes is breathing heavily.
Lewis cracks a nice hook into Vimes's ribs.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Lewis cracks Vimes with an open hand slap.
Lewis digs a good hook to Vimes's body.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ray Lewis dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Lewis clobbers Vimes with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

and Vimes is countered with a crisp right hand from Lewis that sends him to the canvas! Lewis follows him to the mat into side control.


Vimes is rocked!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Lewis controls the position from side control.
Oh Vimes is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Lewis passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Vimes!
Lewis has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Lewis working some short elbows here. He postures up to throw some more ground and pound but Vimes slips a leg through to get back to half guard. Nice work.
Vimes seems to have got his legs back now.
Lewis wants to free his trapped foot but Vimes is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Lewis wants to pass to mount but Vimes is defending the position.

Lewis keeps trying to improve his position.
Lewis works his way into side control.
Ray Lewis has got the better of the ground game so far.
Lewis in side control, throwing shots but Vimes defends.
An elbow from Lewis crashes against the mat.
Vimes is letting Lewis control him for a moment.
Lewis wants to take a breather but Vimes manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Lewis.
Vimes is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Lewis is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Lewis looking to sit in guard and control but Vimes gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Vimes misses with a low kick as Lewis jumps back.
Lewis scores with a hook.
Vimes takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Lewis lands a leg kick that knocks Vimes off balance momentarily.

Lewis lands a head kick that stumbles Vimes and the fighters go to the mat.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Lewis wants to control from the top but Vimes keeps moving.
Lewis throws an elbow that misses. Vimes uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Lewis's guard. Nice move by Vimes!

Vimes wants to stand and escape but instead Lewis has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Lewis trying to control the position from guard on top but Vimes is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Lewis wants to pass the guard but Vimes is keeping the position.
Lewis in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Ray Lewis showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!


Vimes scores with a hook to the body. Lewis takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Lewis blocks a leg kick.
That kick from Lewis tenderised Vimes's leg. Vimes is trying to keep his angry face on.
Vimes throws a leg kick
and Lewis cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Lewis swings for the body but Vimes moves out of range.
Vimes throws an off balance right hand
and Lewis counters with a low kick, right behind Vimes 's knee.
A jab from Vimes misses.
Lewis now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
Lewis takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Vimes displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Lewis throws out the jab.
Vimes throws a quick inside leg kick.
Lewis bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Vimes's head backwards.
Vimes gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Lewis.

Nice shot lands for Lewis.
A head kick misses from Lewis.
Vimes throws a solid leg kick but Lewis takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Vimes.
Lewis is trying to counter with his kicks.
Vimes tries to score with a low kick but Lewis moves his leg out of the way.
Vimes swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Lewis counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Vimes throws a body kick despite being completely out of range
and Lewis counters with a big left hand that crumples Vimes! He was out before he hit the floor! Brutal knockout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:36 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Ray Lewis!
During a confident post fight interview, Ray Lewis thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
