The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yount is looking to clinch but Volkov is avoiding it.
Volkov missing with a left hand there. Yount was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Volkov throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Yount has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Volkov is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Volkov moves out of range of the leg kick from Yount.
Volkov throws a hook to the side of Yount's head but Yount sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Volkov throws a head kick but Yount moves out of range.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Yount! But no joy.
Volkov throws a solid leg kick but Yount takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Volkov.
Yount defending well as Volkov loads up on a big left hand.
Yount scores with a decent looking hook.
Yount throws a wild body kick that Volkov sees coming a mile off.
A chopping leg kick lands by Yount.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Yount lunges at Volkov with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Volkov's hand.

That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Volkov crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Yount - the referee stops the clock and Volkov gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Yount. Volkov manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Volkov takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Yount is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Volkov moves forwards but Yount connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Yount ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Yount takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
A low kick from Yount is predictable there
and Volkov counters with a nice uppercut.
Volkov looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Yount has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Yount scores with a body shot.
Yount is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
Volkov cracks a nice hook into Yount's ribs.
A jab from Volkov misses.
Yount was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind.
Volkov pulls out of a head kick attempt.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Volkov thumps Yount with a low kick.

Yount throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Volkov avoids the head kick by Yount.
Yount wants to clinch
and Volkov counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

It looks like Robin Yount has been cut.
Robin Yount seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Yount scores with a hook to the body. Volkov takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
A cross from Volkov lands.

Yount misses with a hook. Volkov ducked under it nicely.
Volkov misses with a wild body shot.
Volkov has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Yount finds it's way round the side to connect with Volkov's head.
A looping hook to the body misses from Yount. Volkov does a little dance to reset his feet.

Volkov lands a big right hand that sends Yount crashing to the mat! Volkov stays standing though and waves Yount back to his feet!

Yount is rocked!
Yount tries to get into range but Volkov steps to the side and lands a beautiful hook that drops Yount! He's faceplanted into the mat, ass in the air... he's out cold! That's an image he won't want to show his grandkids when he gets older! Volkov scores the big KO victory!
