Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jimmy Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andy Davis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Andy Davis has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jimmy Diaz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Andy Davis!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Robert Douchet and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diaz wants to clinch.
Davis throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Davis fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Diaz checks it well.
Diaz is looking to counter punch.
Davis shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Diaz sprawls well. Diaz wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Davis gets slowly back to his feet.
Davis changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Diaz tries to avoid it but Davis manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Diaz to the ground. Diaz escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Diaz is looking to counter with head kicks.
Davis moves out of range as Diaz throws a body kick.
Davis steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Diaz.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nice takedown defense from Diaz. No joy for Davis on that attempt.

Diaz drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Davis gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Davis tries to score a body lock takedown but Diaz shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Diaz looks to throw an elbow but misses.
Diaz jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Davis walks away with a smile on his face. Diaz gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Diaz closes the distance and pushes Davis back into the cage.
Davis changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Diaz fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Diaz shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Diaz slaps away a takedown attempt from Davis, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Diaz drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Davis wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

That was a close round but I would say that Jimmy Diaz will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Diaz connects with a nice short shot to Davis's temple.

Davis will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Diaz up against the cage.

Davis pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Diaz shoots for a double leg takedown but Davis sprawls well. He's pushed Diaz's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Diaz stuns Davis with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

Davis dives in and grabs Diaz's left leg, looking for a takedown. Diaz pushes down on Davis's head and hops out.

I would just about give that final round to Andy Davis.
I think Davis has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
