Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Pierre Van Gogh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Robert Boone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Van Gogh's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Outro - By: M83. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 31 - 15 - 0, fighting out of New York, Robert Boone!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Eddie Farnsworth and Russell Pearce.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Van Gogh shoots for a takedown but Boone saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Boone swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Van Gogh misses with a looping left.
Boone misses with a straight left.
Van Gogh misses with a double jab.
Boone throws a hook but Van Gogh blocks it.
Boone needs to keep his hands up - Van Gogh had a free shot at his head there.
Boone loads up on a big right hand but Van Gogh slips the punch.
Pierre Van Gogh seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Boone throws the left hand but Van Gogh avoids the punch easily.
Van Gogh connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Boone momentarily.
Boone misses the jab.
Van Gogh avoids the body shot from Boone.
Van Gogh connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Boone throws a series of punches but Van Gogh moves out of range.
Van Gogh cracks Boone with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Van Gogh looks to score with a jab to the body but Boone is just out of range.
Boone throws a counter combo.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Boone throws out a loose jab but Van Gogh uses good head movement to avoid it.
Van Gogh misses with a two punch combination.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Boone! But no joy.

Van Gogh bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Boone is really struggling to land any decent head shots against his taller opponent.
Van Gogh is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Boone.
Boone lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
We've been told by Van Gogh's head coaches at LOD: Scrap Squad that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
The crowd cheers as Boone lands an impressive looking overhand right. Van Gogh doesn't seem phased though.
Boone lands a jab to the nose.
Van Gogh rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Boone moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Good shot there by Boone.
Van Gogh misses with a low kick.
Boone might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Boone throws a hook but Van Gogh avoids it easily.
Van Gogh with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Boone misses with a straight right.
Robert Boone is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Boone scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Van Gogh misses with a two punch combination.
Van Gogh throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Van Gogh throws a left and a right that both miss
and Boone counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Van Gogh shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Boone as he jumps to the side.

Van Gogh scores with a jab to the head.
Van Gogh lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Boone at a distance.
Van Gogh throws a lazy uppercut
and Boone counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Van Gogh throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Boone counters with a stiff right hand.
No joy there for Van Gogh, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Van Gogh lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

and Boone counters with a straight right hand.
Boone lands with a straight right. Van Gogh didn't see that one coming.
Van Gogh moves out of range as Boone strikes.
Van Gogh ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Van Gogh fails with the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Pierre Van Gogh. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Van Gogh looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Boone looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Van Gogh tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Boone defends well and Van Gogh ends up having to push Boone into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Boone with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Van Gogh to score with a decent uppercut.
Boone throws out a powerful jab.
Boone slaps away a takedown attempt from Van Gogh, before circling back to the center of the mat.

and Boone counters with a lovely shot to the body.

Van Gogh scores with a jab. Boone acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Boone uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Van Gogh.
Boone connects with a single shot there.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Boone moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Van Gogh scores with a one two! Boone had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Van Gogh ducks under a wild hook from Boone.
Van Gogh shoots in for a double leg but Boone sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Boone loads up on a big right hand but Van Gogh slips the punch.
Boone throws out a loose jab but Van Gogh uses good head movement to avoid it.
Van Gogh rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Van Gogh takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Boone on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Van Gogh throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Boone stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

Boone sends Van Gogh crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Boone is motioning to the referee to let Van Gogh up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!


Van Gogh is rocked!
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Van Gogh lands a jab to Boone's midsection.
Oh Van Gogh is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Boone throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Van Gogh sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Van Gogh seems to have got his legs back now.
Van Gogh takes a jab right on the kisser.

Boone feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Van Gogh sprawling to the canvas! Van Gogh rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Boone finish him?!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Robert Boone dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Boone's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Van Gogh connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Boone scrambles back to his feet.

Boone drops Van Gogh with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Van Gogh looks back up at him and smiles so Boone waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Van Gogh changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Boone tries to avoid it but Van Gogh manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Boone to the ground. Boone escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

and Boone counters with a straight right hand.
Van Gogh misses with a lunging right hand
and Boone scores with a counter punch that sends Van Gogh to the canvas! Boone smells blood - he's punishing Van Gogh with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Van Gogh has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:24 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Robert Boone!
During a confident post fight interview, Robert Boone thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
