Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Omar Parks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chong Wei (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wei has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Chong Wei has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Omar Parks's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 1, fighting out of New York, Chong Wei!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Lou da Vinci and Reed Andrews.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wei slips a jab and a cross from Parks.
Wei looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!

Parks changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Wei looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Wei throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!
Parks could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Parks moves into the clinch successfully.
Wei tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Parks just stands there and leans against the cage.

Parks jumps guard but Wei stands there with Parks around his waist. Parks gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Parks has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Wei is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Parks is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Wei gets his way!

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Omar Parks.
Well Parks has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
