Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Josh Dale (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Leonardo Moretti (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Leonardo Moretti has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Josh Dale's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Josh Dale!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Leonardo Moretti!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Jonathan Paton and David Schapiro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dale misses with a kick to the body
and Moretti counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

Moretti closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Dale quickly recovers to half guard.
Moretti takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Moretti decides to return to a standing position.
Dale shoots in and drives through. Moretti sprawls well.
Dale really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Moretti gets a clinch.

Moretti breaks from the clinch.
Dale throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Moretti shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Dale's guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Dale wants to get back to his feet but Moretti is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Moretti slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Dale looks like he's trying to stand up.
Dale flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Moretti seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Moretti changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Dale looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Moretti lands with an uppercut that bounces Dale off the cage and back into range.
Dale lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.

Moretti has Dale pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Moretti pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Dale tumbling to the mat - Moretti dives into Dale's guard.

Dale shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Moretti as he jumps to the side.
Moretti looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.

Moretti fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Dale sprawls well initially but Moretti persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Moretti looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

Moretti is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Dale doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Moretti.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Dale wants to stand and escape but Moretti is having none of it.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Dale will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Well Moretti has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
