PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lou Dalton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dominic Roode (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Emerson Jorge and Matheus Silva.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Dalton holds on and takes a little breather.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Roode throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Dalton was covering up waiting for the punch and Roode finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Roode is fighting to break Dalton's control of his arms but Dalton is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Dalton's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

If it seems like I'm not saying a lot, it's just because Dalton is stinking the place up with his stalling.

Roode stands up and beckons Dalton to his feet.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dominic Roode showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Dominic Roode seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Roode takes the fight into the clinch.

Dalton turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Dalton manages to end up in side control.

Roode gets to his feet. Dalton looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Lou Dalton.
I think Dalton has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
