Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Petr Havel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Petey Tarfel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Petr Havel!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Petey Tarfel!
The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Leandro Rodrigues and Matheus Silva.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Havel darts in looking for a takedown but Tarfel gets double underhooks and turns Havel into the ropes.
And Tarfel tries to counter it with a takedown but Havel pushes his down on his head and steps out.
No luck for Havel with that takedown attempt.

Tarfel drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Tarfel works to advance to full mount. Havel defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Tarfel lands a nice shot to the head.
Havel knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Tarfel on the ground.
Havel tries to reverse the position but Tarfel maintains control.
Havel is in a horrible position here. Tarfel smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Havel is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Tarfel lands a heavy elbow.
This has been an exciting period of action!

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Tarfel jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Havel is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Havel and Tarfel has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Tarfel tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Tarfel has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Havel is not content to let Tarfel control the position.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Havel manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

Tarfel works the jab nicely.

Petey Tarfel dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Havel blocks a jab.
Havel shoots in but Tarfel avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Tarfel manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Havel on his heels. He'll look to pass Havel's guard now, I'm sure.
Tarfel lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Tarfel stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Havel swivels though and keeps the full guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Tarfel has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Tarfel wants to take a breather but Havel is having none of it.
Havel is trying to maintain the position but Tarfel is very close to passing his half guard.
Tarfel winds up and cracks Havel with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Tarfel is looking for a kimura here.

Tarfel lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Havel has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Tarfel is working away from the top position though.
Havel is refusing to be controlled, as Tarfel sits in half guard.
Havel wants to improve his position but Tarfel is controlling well.
Tarfel wants to control but Havel is keeping him busy.
Havel is pressing down on Tarfel's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Tarfel pushes down on Havel's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Havel is refusing to be controlled, as Tarfel sits in half guard.
Petey Tarfel has got the better of the ground game so far.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Tarfel connects with a nice short shot to Havel's temple.
Havel wants to get back to his feet.
Havel holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Still in half guard, Tarfel seems content to control.
Tarfel tries to pass the half guard into mount. Havel knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Petey Tarfel showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Tarfel has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Havel has a hand on Tarfel's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Tarfel takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!

Havel is rocked!
Havel really wants to buck Tarfel off and get back to his feet.
Havel wants to hold on but Tarfel pushes him away.

Tarfel is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Havel is surviving well by controlling Tarfel's body position as best he can.

Tarfel fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Oh Havel is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Tarfel drops a big elbow. That's hurt Havel! More shots from Tarfel and the ref steps in! The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:58 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Petey Tarfel!
After the fight, Petey Tarfel was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
