The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight stays on the outside here - Billings looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Cardenas is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Billings is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Billings is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.
Billings doesn't have the hooks in and Cardenas manages to turn into his guard.

Billings is working an open guard so Cardenas takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Billings closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Cardenas's guard.

Cardenas seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
