Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Devon King (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Chester (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). John Chester has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Devon King's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Devon King!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, John Chester!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Josh West and Chris Saunders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chester misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Chester shoots in for a takedown but King shows good takedown defense.
An attempted straight right counter from King misses the target.
King looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
King showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Chester.
King was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
King throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
King sets himself, and Chester steps forward looking for the clinch! King avoids it this time.
John Chester seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Chester shoots for a double leg takedown but King sprawls well. He's pushed Chester's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Devon King has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John Chester.
Chester uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from King.
Chester bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Chester's hands are dropping dangerously low here and King connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Chester scrambles back to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
King misses with an uppercut.
King defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Chester.
King is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Chester.
King stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and King wants it to stay on the feet.
King throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Chester sees it coming and avoids it easily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Chester misses with an uppercut
and King counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
King waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Chester.
King throws a lazy right hand but Chester sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
King throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

Chester shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
King trying to keep a closed guard but Chester is proving a slippery customer.
King wants to sweep but no luck.
Chester trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Chester pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. King is keeping the position for now.
Chester chips away with some ground and pound.
King working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Chester.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Chester trying to control but King is working from the bottom.
King knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Chester on the ground.
Chester throws a big right hand that misses.
Chester makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
King looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Chester puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.

Chester seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. King is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). John Chester!
John Chester decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
