Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Booker Potter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jay Mosqueda (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Booker Potter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jay Mosqueda!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Tiny Johnson and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mosqueda shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Potter is trying to defend but Mosqueda finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Mosqueda in particular looking to stall.
Potter is looking to control Mosqueda's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Potter avoid being mounted?
Mosqueda thows a huge punch but Potter dodges it nicely.
Mosqueda is thwarting Potter's attempts to control the position.
Mosqueda wants to stand up but Potter is controlling the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Potter keeping hold of Mosqueda's head, controlling as best he can.
Mosqueda is keen to just control but Potter is a slippery customer.

Mosqueda wants to pass the guard but Potter is defending well.
Mosqueda trying to control the action but Potter is working from the bottom.

Mosqueda is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Mosqueda tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
Mosqueda wants to lay and pray for a moment but Potter keeps working.
Mosqueda stops Potter from getting back to his feet.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Mosqueda gets control of Potter's arms and successfully pulls guard. Mosqueda will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Mosqueda is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Potter is controlling him.
Mosqueda controlling Potter's posture.
Mosqueda wants to stand but Potter is controlling the position.
Potter slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Mosqueda wants to sweep here but Potter controlling him for the moment.
Mosqueda utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Mosqueda not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Mosqueda tries to clinch but Potter moves out of range.

Potter gets caught napping as Mosqueda dives in and scores a takedown. Potter manages to retain guard.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Potter wriggles free and stands up.
Mosqueda closes the distance but Potter moves to the side
and Potter counters with a three punch combo that has Mosqueda backing up. Mosqueda nods at Potter to acknowledge the strikes.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Mosqueda misses with a double jab.
A counter left hand to the body from Potter misses its target.

Potter gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Mosqueda looking to pass the guard.
Potter tries to strike from the bottom.
Mosqueda is pushing down on Potter's leg trying to pass to half guard. Potter is fighting to maintain full guard but Mosqueda has managed to sneak the leg through.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Mosqueda tries to stand but can't do so whilst Potter controls his leg.
Potter throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Jay Mosqueda will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Potter drives through and clinches with Mosqueda against the cage.
Mosqueda is trying to push Potter away but Potter has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.

Potter pulls guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Potter trying to strike off his back.
Mosqueda trying to control the position from guard on top but Potter is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Mosqueda passes into half guard.

Mosqueda seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Mosqueda is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Mosqueda stops Potter from getting back to his feet.
Potter wants to control the action here but instead Mosqueda manages to pass to full mount!
Potter is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Mosqueda looking to control but Potter is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Mosqueda controlling the position easily from mount.
Potter is flailing around like a fish out of water, trying to land strikes.

Potter is squirming around, avoiding Mosqueda's attempts to control the action.
Potter swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing.
Potter flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.
Mosqueda blocks Potter's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom.

Mosqueda jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Potter manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Mosqueda tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Mosqueda has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Potter tries to bench press Mosqueda off him but Mosqueda keeps the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Mosqueda stands up and we're back to a striking position.
A lazy body kick from Mosqueda

and Potter holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Mosqueda pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Mosqueda shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Mosqueda is breathing heavily.
Mosqueda throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Mosqueda trying to control but Potter is working from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mosqueda has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Potter is proving hard to escape from.
Potter thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

Potter doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Mosqueda is fighting to break Potter's control of his arms but Potter is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Mosqueda throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Potter throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Mosqueda closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Potter quickly recovers to half guard.
Potter looks like he's trying to stand up.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Mosqueda blocks the strikes from Potter.
Mosqueda wants to control but Potter is keeping him busy.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jay Mosqueda showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!


Mosqueda attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
It looked like Potter was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

Mosqueda drives through with a takedown into guard.
Potter is wriggling around but Mosqueda manages to pass to half guard.

Potter wants to control but Mosqueda is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Potter wants to get back to his feet.
Potter misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Potter wants to sweep but Mosqueda has passed to side control!

You can see the frustration on Potter's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Mosqueda tries to stand but Potter is controlling his head.
Mosqueda throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.

Mosqueda thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Potter trying to control but Mosqueda flips him over like a cheap hooker and has his back!

Mosqueda has his opponent's back and is working for the choke.
Mosqueda controls the position.

Mosqueda avoiding Potter 's attempts to control his hands.

Mosqueda looking to break Potter's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Potter remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Mosqueda will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!
Mosqueda takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Will Mosqueda go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?
Potter is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
Mosqueda misses with punches from the back.

Potter is trying to stand back up.

Mosqueda trying desperately to keep hold of the dominant position.
Potter trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble.
Potter turns into Mosqueda and is now in his guard.
Potter is fighting to break Mosqueda's control of his arms but Mosqueda is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Mosqueda trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!

Mosqueda is trying to control the position but Potter postures up.
Potter really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Mosqueda wants to improve his position but instead Potter has moved into half guard.
Mosqueda is trying to maintain the position but Potter is very close to passing his half guard.
Booker Potter has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Jay Mosqueda is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
