Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ray Rorden (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jeremy Stylez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ray Rorden had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ray Rorden!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Steve Montenegro and Columbo Gatti.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rorden darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Rorden seems to be working for a kimura but Stylez defends the submission attempt.
Still in half guard, Rorden seems content to control.
Rorden has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Rorden looking to break Stylez's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Stylez remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Rorden will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

and Rorden counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Stylez has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Rorden has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.

Rorden lands an elbow inside that Stylez shrugs off.

Rorden breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Rorden is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Stylez can do to turn this around?
Rorden shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Stylez napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Stylez bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Stylez tries to clinch up but Rorden circles away and keeps his distance.
Rorden shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Stylez pinned against the cage. Stylez gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Rorden throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Stylez was covering up waiting for the punch and Rorden finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Stylez has momentary wrist control but Rorden slips an elbow through the middle.
Stylez is looking for a triangle but Rorden pushes his legs off easily.

Rorden definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Rorden stays in close to Stylez's body and controls the position.
Rorden postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

Rorden gets to his feet - Stylez follows without any prompting.
Rorden misses with a head kick.
Rorden closes the distance and pushes Stylez back into the cage.

Stylez tries to pull guard but Rorden holds him up against the cage and eventually Stylez drops back down to his feet.

Rorden is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Rorden stops Stylez from standing up.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Stylez closes the distance but Rorden moves to the side
so Rorden counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Rorden stands up from Stylez's guard - Rorden perhaps looking for a knockout.
Stylez takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Rorden looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Rorden takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Rorden takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Rorden's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Rorden seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Stylez for as long as he can get away with.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Rorden winds up and cracks Stylez with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Well Rorden has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
