Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jeffrey Taylor!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 25 - 15 - 2, fighting out of New York, Asa Sharp!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sharp forces Taylor back against the cage and clinches.
Sharp tries for a takedown. No joy.
Sharp gets underhooks to prevent Taylor's takedown attempt.

Sharp pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Sharp is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Sharp rushes Taylor and presses him up against the cage.
Taylor is looking for a takedown.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Sharp gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Taylor wants to sweep here but Sharp controlling him for the moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Taylor is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Sharp slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
It looks like Sharp might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Sharp missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Sharp engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Sharp throws a combination that misses

and Taylor counters with a shoot takedown. Sharp fights it but they end up in guard.
Taylor throwing strikes but missing.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Taylor accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Taylor is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Sharp has Taylor pulled in close to control his posture.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Taylor is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Sharp looking to control.

Sharp is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Taylor rolls with it to try and escape but Sharp cranks on the arm and Taylor is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:33 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Asa Sharp!
After winning the bout, Asa Sharp thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
