Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Colin Bonner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Georgie Thunder (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Georgie Thunder has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Colin Bonner!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Georgie Thunder!
The judges for this bout are Topper Green, Francis DeMontford and Bruno Hogan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thunder throws a combination that misses
and Bonner counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Thunder.
Thunder shoots in for a takedown but Bonner shows good takedown defense.
It looked like Bonner wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

Thunder drives through and clinches with Bonner against the cage.
Bonner is trying to stall.
Bonner throws a punch but it's blocked by Thunder.
Thunder lands a body shot in the clinch.

Thunder pulls guard effortlessly.
Thunder throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bonner won't allow Thunder to get back to his feet.
Bonner with a flurry of punches that miss.
Thunder is controlling Bonner's posture.

Bonner avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Thunder is looking for a triangle but Bonner pushes his legs off easily.
Thunder keeping moving, preventing Bonner from controlling successfully.
Thunder looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Thunder looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Thunder striking off his back but it's not causing Bonner any problems.
Bonner is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Bonner stands up from Thunder's guard - Bonner perhaps looking for a knockout.

Thunder has managed to clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Thunder is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Bonner taking a breather.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Thunder.

Thunder breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Thunder moves into the clinch.

Thunder breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Thunder is defended easily by Bonner.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Bonner has Thunder pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Thunder manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Thunder drops down looking for an ankle pick but Bonner pulls his leg out and moves away.
Colin Bonner has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Georgie Thunder.

Thunder closes the distance and pushes Bonner back into the cage.
Bonner is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Thunder is defending well for now.
Thunder stops a takedown attempt from Bonner.
Bonner goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Bonner fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Thunder jumps into guard, dragging Bonner to the mat.
Bonner will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Bonner makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Bonner really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Bonner is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Thunder not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Thunder has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Bonner can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Thunder trying to keep a closed guard but Bonner is proving a slippery customer.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Georgie Thunder dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Thunder tries for a takedown but Bonner circles away easily
and Thunder takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Bonner rushes Thunder and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Bonner jumps guard but Thunder turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Thunder has Bonner pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Thunder pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Bonner tumbling to the mat - Thunder dives into Bonner's guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Thunder tries to stand but Bonner is controlling from the bottom.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Bonner looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Thunder passes into side control.
Thunder is looking to take a break and control but Bonner is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Thunder has hold of Bonner's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Bonner tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Thunder cranks the arm and Bonner screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Bonner, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:25 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Georgie Thunder!
