Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Yancy Spleeth (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Samuel Washington (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Washington is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by TNT. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 23 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Yancy Spleeth!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 32 - 20 - 2, fighting out of New York, Samuel Washington!
The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Josh West and Colin Fray.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Spleeth drives through with a takedown into guard.
Washington keeping full guard, as Spleeth tries to pass.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Washington is on top in guard.

Spleeth will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Washington works a leg free and moves into half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Spleeth wants to improve his position but Washington is controlling well.

Spleeth gets back to full guard.

Spleeth throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Washington trying to control the position from guard on top but Spleeth is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Washington manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Spleeth manages to get himself to full guard.

Washington's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Spleeth has momentary wrist control but Washington slips an elbow through the middle.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Spleeth is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Spleeth has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Washington tries to lock up and control but Spleeth gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Spleeth can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Washington is looking to escape.

Spleeth swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Washington is now in Spleeth's guard. A big mistake from Spleeth there, giving up the dominant position!

Washington got a little sloppy there for a moment and Spleeth has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Washington has managed to get both his arms back between Spleeth's legs - danger averted.

Spleeth is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Washington defends well.
Spleeth manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Washington manages to get himself to full guard.


Spleeth postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Washington is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Spleeth, into his guard.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Spleeth's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Spleeth shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Washington pinned against the cage. Washington gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
A nice leg kick lands there from Washington.
Spleeth shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Washington defends it nicely.

Washington feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Spleeth's calf.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Spleeth fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Washington avoids it really well and circles away.
Washington tries to counter with a clinch but Spleeth shakes him off and moves away.

Washington rushes Spleeth and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Spleeth can't get the takedown.
Washington misses with a short punch on the inside.
Washington throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
Spleeth has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Washington avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Washington digs a right hand into Spleeth's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Spleeth's gas tank.
Washington lands a nice uppercut.
Washington misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Spleeth is looking for a takedown.

Washington lands a shoulder strike.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Washington.
Washington lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Washington is leaning against Spleeth and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.
Washington lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Washington lands with a short head shot on the inside.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Washington tries to work over Spleeth's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Washington gets underhooks to prevent Spleeth's takedown attempt.
Spleeth drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Washington gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Washington pushes Spleeth back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Washington tries to throw a body punch but Spleeth avoids it by throwing Washington back against the cage.
Spleeth has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Washington after a bit of a struggle.
Spleeth has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Washington is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Washington lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Washington takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Spleeth has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Washington after a bit of a struggle.
Washington digs a right hand underneath Spleeth's ribcage. Spleeth let out a lung full of air as it connected.
Washington makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Washington lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Washington fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Spleeth wants a takedown.
Samuel Washington seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far.
Washington lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Spleeth backwards.
Spleeth drops down looking for an ankle pick but Washington pulls his leg out and moves away.

Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Washington.
Spleeth has his takedown stuffed
and Washington counters with a nice uppercut.


Spleeth is rocked!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Washington lands a front kick.
Washington cracks Spleeth with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Oh Spleeth is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Spleeth tries for a takedown but Washington circles away easily
and Washington counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Washington drops a shoulder and throws an uppercut that cracks Spleeth right on the button. Spleeth goes down! Washington follows him to the mat and finishes the job with more strikes! Washington gets the win via TKO!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:33 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Samuel Washington!
