PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kai Pizirdeven (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ron Borsen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pizirdeven comes to the cage accompanied by Hopsin - You Are My Enemy. Borsen has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Ron Borsen will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Kai Pizirdeven!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Ron Borsen!
The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Daniel Franklin and Winston Alpacca.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pizirdeven shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Borsen is trying to control but Pizirdeven passes into side control!

Pizirdeven stands up and beckons Borsen to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Pizirdeven shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Borsen pinned against the cage. Borsen gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Pizirdeven misses with a few strikes there.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Pizirdeven keeps the fight on the outside.
Pizirdeven fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Pizirdeven enables Borsen to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Pizirdeven manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Borsen drives through with a takedown into Pizirdeven's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Pizirdeven throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Borsen was covering up waiting for the punch and Pizirdeven finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Pizirdeven shoots in and drives through. Borsen sprawls well.

Pizirdeven feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Borsen wants to get back to his feet but Pizirdeven passes into half guard.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Pizirdeven closes the distance and clinches up with Borsen, looking for a takedown. Pizirdeven pushes Borsen against the cage but Borsen circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Pizirdeven shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Pizirdeven showed some decent athleticism there.
Borsen tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Pizirdeven manages to move to mount!

Pizirdeven seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Borsen for as long as he can get away with.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Borsen rolls, trying to escape but Pizirdeven keeps control of the position.

Kai Pizirdeven is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Pizirdeven is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.
Pizirdeven's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
