Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between James Daniel Kennamer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Huell Babineaux (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kennamer comes to the cage accompanied by J.D. Sumner - Old Man River. Babineaux has chosen Ready or Not as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, James Daniel Kennamer!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Huell Babineaux!
The judges for this bout are , Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kennamer blocks a jab.
Kennamer half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Kennamer dives in for a single leg takedown but Babineaux sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Babineaux waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Kennamer.
Kennamer appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Babineaux misses with a looping left.
Kennamer attempts a counter takedown but Babineaux avoids it well and moves away.
Babineaux fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Kennamer manages to avoid it.
Kennamer shoots for a takedown but Babineaux saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Babineaux misses with a low kick.
Babineaux misses with a kick to the body.
Kennamer looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Huell Babineaux seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Babineaux misses with the body kick

and Kennamer counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Kennamer thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Babineaux's head.
Kennamer missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Kennamer throws a strike but Babineaux avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Babineaux avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Kennamer accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kennamer postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Kennamer throws an elbow that misses. Babineaux uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Kennamer's guard. Nice move by Babineaux!

Babineaux not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Kennamer has his hands on Babineaux's head, controlling the position.
Babineaux content to stall in guard here.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kennamer pulls Babineaux in to control the position.
Kennamer has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Babineaux is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Kennamer shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for James Daniel Kennamer. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Babineaux comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
A telegraphed right hand from Babineaux misses the target.
Some bone on bone action there as Kennamer checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Kennamer appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Babineaux throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Kennamer tries for a takedown but Babineaux sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Huell Babineaux dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Babineaux connects with a looping right hand.


It looks like James Daniel Kennamer has been cut.
Babineaux comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Babineaux and Kennamer are patiently standing in front of each other looking for an opening. Babineaux throws a head kick. It's landed, knocking Kennamer into next week! Ooooh that was huge! Babineaux knows it - he's on the cage flexing is biceps. That's a bit weird considering he won by kick but whatever.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:28 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Huell Babineaux! Huell Babineaux retains his heavyweight title!
Huell Babineaux seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
