Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rio Vargas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Super White (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Rio Vargas!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Super White!
The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Konstantin Menshow.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

White drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Vargas escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. White gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
White would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
White trying to control but Vargas is working from the bottom.

Vargas working for a triangle but White defends it easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Vargas is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. White is aware though and is defending well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Vargas escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. White gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Vargas has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. White is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Vargas.
White is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.

White feints and as Vargas raises his hands in defense, White changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

White drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
White avoids the strikes from the bottom by Vargas.
Vargas is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but White is one step ahead and moves to full mount!
White tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
White trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Super White has got the better of the ground game so far.
Vargas is working to get back to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Super White showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. And we move into the final round!

Rio Vargas has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Super White comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well White has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
