Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Joseph Chewster (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Burke Heimer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Burke Heimer has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Joseph Chewster!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Burke Heimer !
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Eddie Farnsworth and Joseph Jones.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chewster takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Heimer connects with a high kick.
Nice defenses there by Chewster.
Chewster feinted there with a counter leg kick.
Heimer scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Heimer tries to work over Chewster's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Heimer swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Heimer misses with some punches.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Heimer .

Chewster has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Heimer regains guard immediately.
Heimer is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Chewster with a flurry of punches that miss.
Heimer utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Heimer trying to keep a closed guard but Chewster is proving a slippery customer.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Chewster cracks Heimer with a solid left hand.
Chewster controlling from the top position.

Chewster drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Chewster jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Chewster throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Heimer works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Chewster not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Chewster throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Chewster forces his way into half guard.
Heimer looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Heimer trying to hold on to Chewster's head to control him but Chewster postures up.
Chewster is looking to take a break and control but Heimer is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Chewster is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Heimer wants to control but Chewster is keeping busy.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Chewster controlling the action here.
Chewster winds up and cracks Heimer with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Chewster stalling.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Chewster's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Chewster throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Heimer blocking the ground and pound attempt from Chewster.
Heimer keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Heimer trying to control here.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Heimer pivots, looking for a leg kick but Chewster is out of range and Heimer settles back down.
Chewster misses with a looping left.

Chewster gets a takedown into half guard.
Chewster is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Chewster is trying to control the action in half guard but Heimer is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Joseph Chewster dominated that round.
That's time! Chewster's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Heimer connects with the punch.
Heimer throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Chewster sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Heimer thows a leg kick but Chewster checks it

and Chewster counters with a takedown into side control.

Chewster tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Chewster has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Chewster in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
Heimer takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Heimer is looking to regain half guard here but Chewster keeps moving and retains side control.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Chewster taking a breather here.
Chewster misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
Chewster lands a nice forearm strike.
Chewster wants to control but Heimer is keeping him busy.
Heimer really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Chewster. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
Heimer avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Chewster.

Heimer is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Chewster's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Heimer wants to get back to full guard.
Joseph Chewster overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Chewster takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Heimer won't allow Chewster to pass to mount.

Chewster in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Heimer tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Chewster!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:52 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Joseph Chewster!
