Essam is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Last man standing. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Stout looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Stout really is a fat lump.

Essam is looking for a triangle but Stout pushes his legs off easily.

Essam had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Stout defends it easily.

Essam working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Stout doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Stout manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Essam wants to control the position but Stout says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.

Essam has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Stout. Oh but Essam has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Stout goes limp - he's gone! Essam jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!

Mohamad Essam spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
