PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Wade Wallace (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Glen Gall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wallace has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Wade Wallace!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Glen Gall!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Elvis Blanc and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wallace tries a head kick but it misses.
Wallace avoids the head kick by Gall.
As Gall looks to move away, Wallace throws a big counter combo but Gall just gets out of the way.
Gall throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Wallace drops down looking for a counter takedown but Gall sprawls and moves away.
Gall displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.
Gall shoots in for a double leg but Wallace sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Wallace stuffs the takedown.
Wallace attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Wallace sets himself, and Gall steps forward looking for the clinch! Wallace avoids it this time.
Wallace fails in his attempt to clinch.
Gall shoots in for a takedown but Wallace shows good takedown defense.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Gall pulls Wallace into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gall is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Wallace is breathing heavily.
Gall is figuring out what he wants to do next.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Gall wants to work for an arm triangle but Wallace is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Gall is controlling the pace.

Gall tries to stand but can't do so whilst Wallace controls his leg.

Gall decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Nice takedown defense from Wallace. No joy for Gall on that attempt.
Wallace will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Wallace avoids the head kick by Gall.
Wallace appears to be looking for a big counter.

Gall fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Gall goes for a double leg but Wallace avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Wallace continues to drive forward.
Gall tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Wallace swivels and escapes.

Gall breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Gall fails to land with a series of punches.
Gall shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Wallace as he jumps to the side.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Gall moves into range and clinches up with Wallace.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Wallace throws the kick towards the body but Gall avoids it.
Wallace tries to close the distance and clinch but Gall swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Gall shoots in but Wallace avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Wallace is fighting to break Gall's control of his arms but Gall is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Gall scoring with some ground and pound.
Gall postures up in Wallace's guard and throws a big left but Wallace blocks it.
Wallace preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Gall looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Gall is continuing to stall.

Gall gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Gall changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Wallace tries to avoid it but Gall manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Wallace to the ground. Wallace escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Gall tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Wallace tries to pull guard but Gall won't allow it.
Gall tries for a takedown. No joy.
Wallace misses with the head strike.
Gall is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Wallace is defending well.

Gall creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Wallace's defenses.

Gall pulls Wallace in close to his closed guard and prevents Wallace from doing any damage or advancing position.
Gall not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Gall has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Wallace can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Wallace avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Glen Gall showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Gall working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Wallace doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Wallace manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Gall wants to improve his position but instead Wallace has moved into half guard.

Gall keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Wallace content to control rather than advance.
Gall is trying to get back to full guard.

Gall kicks off Wallace and gets to his feet.
Wallace leaves Gall with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Wallace displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Gall.
Wallace appears to be looking for a big counter.

Gall forces Wallace back against the cage and clinches.
Gall dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage.
Gall has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Wallace after a bit of a struggle.

Gall misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Wallace.

Gall tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Gall throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.

Gall pulls guard.
Gall is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Wallace trying to control but Gall is working from the bottom.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Gall looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
